Code of Care

This Code of Care sets out the professional standards I uphold in my practice, ensuring that all clients receive a safe, ethical, and respectful service.

Medical Advice

Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical advice. You should consult your doctor or healthcare professional regarding any health concerns.

If you are receiving psychiatric treatment, please seek medical confirmation before beginning hypnotherapy.

Any existing medical conditions should be discussed at the initial consultation.

Hypnotherapy is not suitable for individuals experiencing psychosis.

Online Sessions

For online appointments, clients are advised to set an alarm 75 minutes after the session start time, in case they fall asleep.

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the framework for hypnotherapy sessions with Bryony Way, ensuring clarity and fairness for both client and therapist.

Individual Clients

Sessions

Both the initial consultation and standard sessions last approximately 60–75 minutes. The agreed fee per session is stated on the Sessions and Prices page.

Appointments and Cancellations

Missed appointments, or appointments rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, are chargeable at the full fee.

If you need to rearrange or cancel an appointment, please telephone or text 07342 338284.

Late Arrival

If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible. Sessions may need to be shortened depending on subsequent client bookings. The full session fee will still apply.

Payments

Payments can be made in advance or at the end of each session by cash, card, or bank transfer. Online payment invoices can also be sent via Zettle (by PayPal) on request.

Respect and Rights

Clients will be treated with respect and care at all times. The therapist reserves the right to refuse or postpone therapy if they feel threatened, disrespected, or consider that hypnotherapy is not appropriate at that time.

Where appropriate, clients may be signposted to another professional or service better suited to their needs.

Disclaimer

Full client commitment is essential, as outlined in the Code of Care. Hypnotherapy can be highly effective, but success is never guaranteed.

During sessions, I will make brief notes to record your progress and support the planning of future sessions.

All information is stored securely on password-protected devices, and any data recorded on paper is kept in a locked file in compliance with GDPR regulations.

In line with the requirements of the National Council for Hypnotherapy, written records are stored securely for:

  • Up to age 26 for clients aged 17–18 when last seen.

You may request a copy of your records at any time. You also have the right to request that your data be destroyed before the retention dates outlined above.
